William Yeary Jr.

William Houston “Bill” Yeary Jr., 92, husband of Loretta Phelps Yeary died Monday, Jan. 27, 2025 at the Thomson Hood Veterans Center in Wilmore. 

Born Dec. 25, 1932, in Lexington he was the son of the late William Houston and Georgia Trimble Yeary Sr.

He was a U.S. Air Force Korean War Veteran and a member of the Burgin Baptist Church, was a former  night auditor for Beaumont Inn and a prior owner of  a waste management business. 

Survivors, in addition to his wife, include: two sons,  William Houston “Bill” (Lana) Yeary III of Danville and Tim (Lisa) Yeary of Mayesville; one daughter,  Gina Piecoro of Lexington; nine grandchildren, 11 great grandchildren, one nephew and severalfriends.  

He was preceded in death by one son,  Kevin Yeary and one sister,  Doris Yeary.

Graveside services with Military Honors will be held 1:30 p.m., Monday, Feb.3, at the Camp Nelson National Cemetery with Jerry Shepherd officiating.

Memorial contributions are suggested to the Thomson Hood Veterans Center, 100 Veterans Drive, Wilmore, KY  40390.
